A visiting friend

Our friends JC and MSC (and their daughter M) moved to Iowa about a year and a half ago, so MSC could take up a nice faculty position there; JC continues to work remotely from the same architecture firm based here, and he visits from time to time. He was here three nights this week for one such visit, staying with DG and AA, and we got to join them for dinner this evening. We ate Thai food and had a couple of hours of great conversation. I gave JC a book, and J recommended a game JC would really like (which he immediately downloaded onto his phone), and we all recommended Frieren. They’d been hoping JC could join them at a Magic event in June, but no, because… JC and MSC are expecting a baby in July! I think MSC will be here at some point in the next few months as well.

The Friday movie was Field of Dreams. I’d seen it when it came out but had obviously forgotten almost all of the story. I had to head to our friends’ house with half an hour left in the movie, so I’ll watch the rest soon online. Oh, while I’m mentioning movies, I should add that the second half of that Hallmark movie I was complaining about, Missing the Boat, was just fine.

Yeah, it was so strange to me that I'd remembered the basic premise but not the rest of it.
