My big achievement for today was getting Geordi and Ginevra to eat their doses of Credelio, the flea medicine – and I’m more confident about doing it in the future, too. Jean-Luc still didn’t take his dose, so I went and got him a dose of the reasonably effective topical medicine. I’m less concerned about him because he’s not allergic to fleas like the other two.

On this week’s Nova, I was learning about the people who lived in Angkor Wat, which is one of about a thousand such temples in an ancient city in Cambodia. One of the rulers sounded truly remarkable – he drove off an invasion from a neighboring country, then established a social welfare system for his people, including building a great many hospitals, and then he converted the land from Hinduism to Buddhism! My immediate thought was that I would like to read a novel about him, and sure enough, one was written about 20 years ago, so I went down to the bookstore and ordered it.

The Friday movie was A League of Her Own. I already knew to expect Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, Madonna, and Rosie O’Donnell – but it completely blew my mind that the actor who plays the underappreciated kid sister of the Geena Davis character was the same woman who starred in Tank Girl!

That's great you're getting most of the cats taken care of, good on you.

That book sounds interesting, and very insightful.

Oh that's a great movie!
