Audition time

It's the time of year when D's clarinet teacher makes recordings of his performance of the specified pieces for "All State," and that makes his lessons especially worth sitting in on. I get to hear him playing especially beautifully, and then I'll get recordings of that, and then maybe he'll get to go to All State again. There are three more weeks until he's done, and he already has acceptable versions of the first and third pieces. The fourth piece is rather annoying to him, and the second especially so as it's designed to see how quickly he can play something technically challenging.

So sleepy

D. is sleepy because he's still adapting to the school day schedule. J. is sleepy because he's way behind on sleep. I don't know for sure what my reason is, but I was definitely out of it today. Decided not to go to the star party I'd been planning on, partly because of being so sleepy, and partly because the moon is so close to Mars and Saturn that there might not be good viewing.
