Tuesday, the day of the groundhog

I’m about to do my last (?) round of proposal edits. Today was sunny and pretty again, though a bit cold, and it was nice to walk around campus doing errands. I had fun looking for books but didn’t find what I wanted specifically.

On the other hand, the school board just voted to close D’s school, as part of their huge budget cuts. It won’t affect us directly, since he’s on to middle school next year anyway, and even if he weren’t, the other neighborhood school is a good one and much closer to our house, but it’s still disappointing, to lose a community like that. It’s been an important part of our lives, and it’s sad that it won’t be there for others. It will also be rather stressful to finish out the year in a melancholy environment.
