eve_primeMy house smells wonderfully like the Ghirardelli dark chocolate brownies J. just baked for his employer’s “tailgate potluck” lunch tomorrow.
Today I was really, really tired – I overdid things exercise-wise yesterday, then parked overly far from the place I was going to try to get D’s clarinet repaired, in the name of “more exercise” and looking at interesting shops. I think I’m not yet over last week’s stomach bug. Soooo tired. Too tired to go on to the next instrument repair place when the first couldn’t do the job (their woodwind person had just quit); I came home and tried to read but was too tired even for that.
But! After 40 minutes of staring at various online instrument diagrams, and at the clarinet itself, I realized that all I had to do was tighten a certain pivot screw with one of my teeny tiny screwdrivers. So! I fixed D’s clarinet all by myself. Triumph! D. was very happy with me.
Oh! Also today I got notified that my dissertation has been accepted; no more wrestling with MS Word’s formatting “issues.” I think my degree will be officially awarded around Sept. 7? At least that’s the official last day of summer term.
