Hunger Games, the movie
Aug. 25th, 2012 11:00 pmWe went and saw this in a little theatre downtown that shows movies after they’ve been released on DVD. It’s a neat place – comfy seats, and they deliver food! We didn’t order any, but when everyone else’s arrived, it smelled delicious.
Anyway, the movie. I think the shaky camera thing would have affected me more on a larger screen, or sitting closer up – it was pretty unpleasant for a while, but once they got on the train I stopped being quite so aware of it. I was glad to have read the book first; the flashbacks in particular might have been confusing otherwise, as well as the action scenes, and of course there were a lot of action scenes (it was too bad that Cato and Peeta looked so alike). Also: I had a thought I’ve never before had in my life... when Katniss was up in the tree, the soundtrack included some guitar music that I actually wished I could play myself.
