D's 12th birthday-eve

eve_primeAt least for today, I’ve been kind of obsessed with the Olympics, much more so than usual. I find myself planning work tasks around what I can do in the livingroom. Not that I’m all that interested in basketball and volleyball.
D’s having his birthday sleepover party at his dad’s right now. On the one hand, it’s kind of sad for me to not be at his party; on the other hand, I’m definitely enjoying the relative quiet. I’ll get half of his day tomorrow, which is his actual birthday. We had fun shopping for the snacks to go with their pizza, and we also got a box of croissants for their breakfast.
Since J. and I weren’t going to Faerieworlds tonight, I’d been looking forward to the big evening event at the pool, but when we got there it turned out they hadn’t gotten any food vendors. So instead we came up with a nice dinner to eat in the back yard, with a big bowl of strawberries.
