Felicitous Friday
Jul. 26th, 2012 10:49 pmTonight we watched last week’s Leverage. It’s fun that the new season will be set in Portland (and not just in Boston as portrayed by Portland). This episode involved the Evergreen Aviation Museum, where they keep the Spruce Goose, and the villain was played by Cary Elwes, whom I no longer find cute and attractive.
We’ve nearly finished A Princess of Mars, and D. is not at all impressed with John Carter’s code of interpersonal behavior, slaying men left and right in the name of impatience to converse with Dejah Thoris. I had hoped he would enjoy the rather lurid writing style, but he probably does not.
Hm, what else? I made some modest progress on work today, and H. is giving me some tasks that sound interesting, editing various documents he’s working on. I turned in the last important form for my dissertation, so that they can now start reviewing the formatting. I got the feedback on my most recent grant proposal and it looks revisable. J. helped me tie up the Altissimo rose (see the icon), and it looks much prettier now. I went on a short walk around the farmer’s market nearest my house. And during lunch I got to see one of the best ever Tom & Jerry episodes, “The Cat Concerto.”
