Friday wrap-up
Feb. 24th, 2012 10:17 pmI was going to write about my gluten-free experiment, but after a week of being sick I still don’t have abundant energy, so instead I’ll just record a few points from my day.
- We had a meeting at work for the “next generation” of new scientists, which was interesting, worthwhile, and accompanied by a very nice lunch. I had some yam soup with a coconut milk base (there was also a mushroom and tarragon soup), a wrap with hummus, Greek olives, cucumber, etc., and sliced strawberries, orange, and pineapple.
- I’m entertaining the idea of writing yet another grant proposal, this one for an April 5th deadline. Am I nuts? Or just so desperate to keep my health insurance? Seriously, I would need to make major progress on my dissertation first, before doing something so rash.
- I read The Lorax to D. this evening, at his request. Fun!
- I think I had something else to say, but it’s not coming to mind... Oh! It was the main thing I was going to post, too! D. is learning how to design circuits in Minecraft, using something called “redstone,” with switches and “repeaters” and “sticky pistons.”
