Well, so my only outstanding grant proposal was reviewed yesterday, the one I was the most optimistic about, and it didn’t get funded either. At least it got scored! None of the others have been scored lately. But the score was 58, on a scale from 10 = perfect to 90 = worst possible, so, oh well. We’ll get the reviews in a few weeks and learn if we can try to fix it.

The upshot is that now the soonest I could get funding for is July. I’ll sure be scrambling between now and then! I think I’ll have health insurance at least through December, and possibly through February, but I don’t know after that. And I’m pretty tired of being so frugal.

Today was the annual Psych Dept. fall gathering. I went and conversed with numerous very nice people and ate lots of fruit pieces and jalapeño poppers. Standing up for an hour and a half was apparently a lot of work, given that I’ve had this cold, so now I’m pretty worn out.

D. had his first middle school dance! He danced the entire time, he says, just randomly on his own, which I guess was pretty common, and wasn’t really ready to stop when it was over.
