Volunteering = fun!
Oct. 18th, 2011 11:29 pmToday was my third time helping out at the middle school library. I’m pretty comfortable doing it now, and I’m recognizing more and more of the kids. One boy today wanted to read The Iliad, which was already checked out. I couldn’t talk him into The Odyssey, because his mom had told him he needed to read The Iliad first. Also, for next week I need to remember for Amelia A., who wanted to read Gone with the Wind, that both copies were shelved in the “classics” section, not under “Mitchell.” *
I was also able to learn for D. that someone had turned in that book he’d misplaced for his language arts class – I hope it will still be there when he goes to check it out again.
* Yeah, I know, how strange, Gone with the Wind in the classics, and The Iliad and The Odyssey elsewhere.
