eve_primeToday’s earlier idyll was marred by a few incidents. First, I managed to burn my foot (!) while making spaghetti sauce. How many people can say they’ve done that? I dumped the ground beef into the skillet a bit too carelessly, I guess, and hot olive oil leaped from the pan and spattered the top of my foot. Then I splashed boiling water onto my hand when putting spaghetti into the water. And then a bit later, I bit my finger. Such a klutz.
Then D. discovered that he couldn’t find the novel he was supposed to finish by tomorrow morning, for school, and his best guess was that it was in his locker or a classroom, unavailable to him even if we sent him to school super-early. Fortunately, when I mentioned it to J. online, he reminded me of the existence of e-books, so I downloaded a Kindle reader for D’s computer and then bought him the book, and he sat there reading the rest of it quite comfortably.
I hope we are back on track now, but I’m definitely not going to try to submit that paper tonight. Who knows what I’d forget?
D. surprised me by wanting to watch the Discovery Channel tribute to Steve Jobs, so we did. I even dreamed about Steve Jobs last night. Five hundred years from now, kids will learn about him in their history classes.
