Cozy, though sneezy

Considering that I’m feeling pretty cruddy (tired, achy, sneezy, a bit stuffy, sore throat), and considering that it’s unseasonably foggy today, I’m having a great day.

• I baked the bread to replace the one I messed up yesterday, which made the house smell happy and feel like a warm haven against the grey weather outside.
  
• D. found himself in the mood to build something, and came up with the wild idea of getting his Thomas boxes out of the garage, so we filled the main entryway with an elaborate train setup. Then Lillian lay down on the tracks and batted at any trains that came her way, so all three of us were having fun.
  
• Then D. and Lillian played with seven high-bounce balls, and then D. and I figured out the beginning of the Oregon fight song on the keyboard, and the house was filled with boy-energy and music.
  
• And then I made myself a mushroom-tomato risotto, having gone through a few of my mom’s cookbooks, and ate that while watching the beginning of tonight’s football game.

Our biggest star player is sitting out the game today, injured, but we’re leading at the half. We may win! After that, I may watch a Gavin & Stacey episode or two, then it’s cartoon time, and I’ll probably have some peach tea.

So, despite my cold or whatever it is, I’m feeling pretty upbeat, even if my energy is more or less depleted at this point.
