Penn and Teller and Zelda
Oct. 13th, 2011 10:47 pmTonight we watched our first episode of Penn & Teller Tell a Lie. They present seven preposterous things (like a bacon-powered blowtorch), and we’re supposed to figure out which one of them is untrue. D. really liked it, and it promotes critical thinking.
My favorite part of the day was seeing how excited he got after that, when he managed to pick out the tune (more or less) to one of his favorite Zelda songs on his clarinet. (“Saria’s Song,” or “Lost Woods.”) Just think, only two weeks since he learned his first note and he’s already improvising in ways that are getting him all inspired and energized!
I may be coming down with a cold. Fortunately, D. has tomorrow off, so maybe I’ll sleep in.
