Being my Wednesday update
Oct. 12th, 2011 10:12 pm- JA, my official mentor at work, says it usually takes about two years of trying to get funded before it happens, so maybe I’m about halfway there, if I can stick it out that long. I do have a small proposal being reviewed on the 20th, and we’re feeling pretty good about the one that just got rejected.
- Today was sunny enough for yardwork. I mowed the lawn, trimmed some dead branches out of the biggest rose bush on the picket fence, and dug up some volunteer Queen Anne’s lace that had run its course.
- D’s band teacher says he has a “naturally good tone,” one of the three (out of seven) clarinet players for whom he said it. Nice! One of the moms overheard them playing “together” today and posted about it; I am definitely going to go “overhear” them myself. She wrote, “I completely understand why [the music teacher] does what he does, it’s painfully beautiful.”
