There _is_ such a thing as a free lunch
Oct. 10th, 2011 10:31 pmI always like it when I manage to attend the monthly Scientist Council meetings at work. You get paid extra (in a sense), and you get the latest info on all the big topics, and you get lunch. I chose the coconut-carrot-ginger soup over the three-cheeses-and-tomato soup. I would have had the Jamaican chicken sandwich rather than the provolone and pesto one, but I waited too long. And there was fruit salad, too.
(I wonder if fruit salad still means “with a dressing and maybe marshmallows” in other places? Here it’s just cut up fruit, mostly melons and berries and grapes.)
