Until you’re a parent, you don’t really know the pleasure of a few unexpected hours of free time. I love spending all day with D. in the summer, but it was pretty delightful to have him get invited to his friend’s house for the afternoon. I went to the office! I went to bookstores! I drove home in a leisurely and roundabout fashion!
