My practical impulse, thwarted

This morning it occurred to me – instead of continuing to be mildly annoyed that all of my best tank tops are about 4" too short, why not make some for myself? I am certainly capable of sewing a tank top. I could tinker with the design of the one I’m wearing now to make it more flattering for my figure, and I could have fun choosing colors.

Alas, though, I have now discovered that my favorite fabric store has gone out of business. They had a nice selection of tencel, too. I did see a new one downtown, but I suspect it specializes in cottons for quilts. I haven’t bought fabric online yet; it would feel odd to buy fabric without being able to touch it first and see the actual color.
