eve_primeThis morning I collated a list of what are currently considered classics in nature writing, since I'd better be a lot more up-to-date if I want to participate in the ASLE conference. So now I've set myself the task of reading one of these books every week until about the end of the year (ha ha). The problem is, some of these books are so beautifully written that I want to savor them, some are way too "poetic" to read in anything but small doses, and some (like Walden, by my extremely distant cousin) I've never been able to get very far into without rolling my eyes. But, try, try, again.
Also today I watched the Globe Trekker episode on northern Spain again, reminded both of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
keyboard_monkey's trip to San Sebastian in early 2003 and that neat Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage website. I fast-forwarded through all the bull. I mean, the Pamplona part, the bullfights, the ranch visit. I guess the Spanish love the bulls.
