Thoughts from a dewdrop denizen
Jul. 27th, 2004 08:50 pmOne point of yesterday's post was that I was frustrated with not getting things done during the time I'd allocated for that and thus was having to get things done during the time I'd rather relax, so I was letting myself daydream about relaxing for the interval of time it took to write the post. Today was better. I did get some things done; I even finished using the Muir book about Alaska, which I've probably had for six months at a minimum.
"When we contemplate the whole globe as one great dewdrop, striped and dotted with continents and islands, flying through space with other stars all singing and shining together as one, the whole universe appears as an infinite storm of beauty." - John Muir, Travels in Alaska
We're having a dinosaur-themed birthday party on Sunday, and I've been spending a lot of time looking for party things to match the theme. My excitement at finding some really cool dinosaur paper plates (at the seventh place one or the other of us had looked) was dimmed a bit by D. telling me that these same plates had been at another boy's party, held at the school, which was also dinosaur-themed. Oh well. D. doesn't care if we're original, and they're definitely cool plates, and it's good that I found them.
