Aug. 19th, 2023 11:51 pmThe Woman in Cabin 10, by Ruth Ware. My friend JS told me about this author, and this book in particular, back in the winter when we read my Mary Stewart choice for book club. It's a more recent thriller that she'd enjoyed. I got the book from the library, but I was a little apprehensive about reading it, so I kept reading books that I trusted not to be thrillers instead. But it's due on Monday, so I gave it a go. At first I couldn't relate to the main character, because she drinks too much, and with my alcoholic parents I'm not terribly sympathetic to that. However, after I was about a third of the way through, I didn't want to stop - and even though my early guess about the victim was correct, the ending was quite satisfying. Whew!
J's pretty sick, but nowhere near as bad as the two times he's had pneumonia. Probably not as bad as when he had Covid, but I'm not sure.
He is very uncomfortable though. His mom also has it and thinks maybe it's RSV, since it's worse than a cold. I'm still in between "sick" and "well" and hoping my immune system is fighting it off.
