Ha!

I just have to share the opening paragraph of Miss Mapp:

Miss Elizabeth Mapp might have been forty, and she had taken advantage of this opportunity by being just a year or two older. Her face was of high vivid colour and was corrugated by chronic rage and curiosity; but these vivifying emotions had preserved to her an astonishing activity of mind and body, which fully accounted for the comparative adolescence with which she would have been credited anywhere except in the charming little town which she had inhabited so long. Anger and the gravest suspicions about everybody had kept her young and on the boil.

Day 1234: Much ado

I did go see "Much Ado About Nothing" today, and it was pretty fun. It definitely helped that I'd seen the movie with Emma Thompson several times. Maybe I'll go again?

I got stung by a yellowjacket this afternoon as I was walking briskly past my old car in my driveway, for no apparent reason. I was pretty much fine two hours later, when I left for the play - my leg didn't hurt at all (where I'd been stung) and I was no longer feeling the queasiness either.

J did sword stuff in the afternoon and Rolemaster in the evening and made lots of progress on his major work project, and we even fit in a game of Slay the Spire, which we play cooperatively almost every day. He had a very full day!
