Day 649: Not-quite-white Christmas
Dec. 25th, 2021 11:24 pmFor the past week, the weather forecast had been insistent that we would get an inch or two of snow today, which would start to fall around 6 pm. At noon, though, the forecast said it would start to snow/rain around 2 pm, with heavy snow at 4. So when R. picked D. up after we'd opened our stockings, he urged me to phone him if it started snowing at our house before his, so that he could get D. safely back.
We spent the afternoon playing with the kittens and, for my part, starting the pot roast, but... no snow. D. returned (they'd gone out for lunch, to some Chinese/Japanese restaurant in Springfield), and we had Christmas dinner (the roast beef, potatoes, carrots, and tree- and bell-shaped biscuits), then I washed up, and then, finally, around 7 pm it was snowing.
And yet, 10 minutes later it had stopped. Oh well. I spent the evening reading, as did J, and the forecast claims snow will resume at midnight.
Update, 11:51 pm: Just in time to qualify!
