Day 647: Christmas Eve's eve
Dec. 23rd, 2021 11:55 pmI am relieved to be done with all my wrapping, finally. J has wrapped his gifts for me, but not yet those for D. We even made a half-hearted attempt to put up some lights during a break in the rain/hail - we plugged in the strand most closely at hand, but it didn't work. J. declared it too dark and wet to keep going, and I wasn't inclined to do it on my own.
Still to be done: 1. locate the stockings, and 2. tidy up J's house, especially the kitchen, before my sister and her husband visit us on Christmas Day after dinner. Ideally he'll do most of that tidying, but I can help with the recycling and empty bottles.
The kittens are quite well, probably a bit bored, but I want to keep them indoors through Christmas so my sister can meet them (which I guess means, 3. tidy J's garage, which the kittens have made messier than usual, and 4. bring in some chairs). Then there's 5-6" of snow in the forecast for three days, starting Christmas Day at 6 pm, and we'll want to keep them inside for that too.
(The place from which I'd ordered D's main gift had called to see if they could deliver it tomorrow rather than Monday, as they're concerned about the snow, but I declined, as the surprise outranks the timeliness. I doubt he'd ever know to look here, but I can't be too careful - I will only say that it's not something we could possibly hide.)
