After all of yesterday's drama about my booster shot aftermath and waking up super-dehydrated and drinking, literally, 12 cups of water over the course of the day to try to fix it, I was frustrated and yet not surprised to wake up with a massive headache today. (And I had lost two and a half pounds!)
I figured it was a migraine, but headaches are one of the most common booster shot side effects, and to my surprise around 7 pm or so it abruptly got a whole lot better. One minute I was "complaining" to David that his description of the four Korean movies he'd watched for his paper was making me laugh, which hurt my head, and the next minute... it didn't really bother me anymore. So I showered and ate a bit and then decided yes, I could try driving downtown for the second half of tonight's symphony concert.
And it went fine. I got to see them perform the Tchaikovsky 1st symphony, one of my favorites, and also my friend JS was there and her friend H's husband G, who is a prolific reader and who has also read Gods of Jade and Shadow, which I'm going to suggest for our next book club reading. So I got to chat a bunch with JS and meet her interesting friend.
Now I'm listening to last month's concert again - my access went away at 10 pm but I logged in at 9:58 pm! This month's concert wasn't recorded, unfortunately, or I would have converted my ticket (I tried). But then I would have missed out on the nicely timed benefit of my dehydration headache letting go of me.
