Day 617: Mini-drama
Nov. 23rd, 2021 11:55 pmToday's excitement was when D. called me from campus, asking for an emergency ride home. Somehow his legs had gotten so painfully itchy that he didn't think he could stand to go to his afternoon class, or to walk back to the bus stop afterwards. His best theory is that maybe it was a delayed reaction to yesterday's allergy shot, compounded by forgetting to take his allergy pill in the morning. My best theory is that it was just a perfect storm of cold weather, dry skin, non-optimal pants fabric, and walking several blocks to lunch. Neither theory seems adequate, though. After he was home again I bought him some spray and lotion, and then he felt unwell otherwise and took a nap, but he was much better by evening. (His Tuesday afternoon class is one that has few consequences for skipping; it's a pretty easy class and the lecture outlines are made available.)
As for me, I didn't get a whole lot done. Besides helping D, I learned more about the new phone features, bought a turkey breast for Thanksgiving, let the yard debris guy reschedule his blackberry vines cleanup date yet again, rather pointlessly attended a Zoom meeting, wrote an email to J's mom, and did a bit of work.
