Day 607: Into the woods
Nov. 13th, 2021 05:43 pmInspired by today's sunshine and the recent photos from
heleninwales, we went to the neighborhood forest to look for mushrooms and falling leaves. There were quite a few people there, including numerous cyclists! The posted rules allow people to go without masks, as long as they pass each other quickly. I took quite a few photos; here are the best ones.
Some interesting sort of what I guess I'd have to call a mega-lichen?

Looking up a ravine:

A deciduous tree that still has its leaves:

These fungi were both pretty and interesting. The brightly colored shelf fungus was collecting random snow-berries. Also, see the fungus that looks like a clam, in the upper center, and then in the upper left, just below the shelf fungus, there's a glossy, dark brown fungus that looked rather like seaweed:

And some pretty mushrooms:
