Day 604: Birthday!
Nov. 11th, 2021 12:42 amToday was my birthday, a very round number that makes me feel old(ish). I slept for only five hours then was pretty much awake but feeling ill from lack of sleep, so we did the gifts, then I tried to sleep another three hours but managed only 45 minutes, at most. Oh well. I still felt unwell after that, but it didn't much matter, and now I just feel short on sleep.
So, for gifts, D. gave me a card and a reading light that's not here yet. J. gave me a book I wanted, a plush eagle from Crater Lake, a fancy Magic pack, and... a portable wood stove for us to use outside! I had greatly wanted one last winter when we were out in the cold garage with our friends, but they were expensive and all sold out. And now I have one! I was totally surprised.
After my nap, I showered and started getting ready for our friends to come over. It began pouring rain, and D. picked up J. from school so he wouldn't get soaked. Then DG and AA came over, and we ordered Italian from Pastini, and DG paid for it. The five of us had well over three hours of fun conversation, including looking at photos from 2004, when J. looked like he was 16, I was sometimes strikingly pretty, and D. was four years old and very cute.

I got all those fun FB greetings, and text messages from B (who has bought a house!), R, and S, and cards from my friend Z, my sister, and J's parents (whose mom sent me two, with my age on them in big numbers - the day after she sent the first she remembered she'd already bought one for me so she sent it too).
So, a fine day!
