Day 597: Productivity! and a good rain

Today was a fine day - after pretty much a whole month of migraines then queasy malaise, I finally had a great level of energy today. I made progress on both of my current big goals, which are to get both my livingroom clean and the first full draft of my paper written by my birthday, a week from today. I made good progress on the paper, and after J. left for Magic I moved several boxes from the livingroom to his garage, finishing just as the first drops of this evening's predicted rainstorm began. I realized belatedly that I wish I'd done my Market of Choice shopping before the downpour, but I was able to park close to the entrance. Then I returned home and made a bunch more progress on the paper. J. returned, having taken the slower but safer route - the other one had led him to submerge the whole undercarriage of his car in a previous rainstorm, and not long ago D. called for a ride home from S's, as the alternative was getting drenched.

My front porch is a nice, dry haven for my cat friends. Ambrose is curled up in a box beside the door, lined with a soft towel, while Oberon had joined the other two kittens in the top of the three stacked baskets. Blitzen, uncharacteristically, was with them too, curled up tightly in the middle basket.
