Day 429: Family stuff
May. 18th, 2021 11:54 pmI got zero work done today (other than thinking), but I was fairly productive anyway. I took D. to his annual allergy check-in; on the way there he told me he does feel the allergy shots have been making a difference, which is great - he hadn't said so before. It's time for them to make his new batch of immunotherapy stuff.
When I got home, I called my step-brother S, who'd emailed me that he wanted to talk about my car-buying ideas. That was great, too, as I really like my step-brothers but hadn't talked with them in years except for last week or so about the estate. We ended up chatting about our respective family histories, housing prices and interest rates, and his wife's family - I hadn't known she had children, and they each have children of their own. He'd like to move to Italy, but she'd rather stay there to see the kids grow up. He's interested in visiting the San Juan Islands, near Seattle, though, as he's heard they get a lot more sun than Seattle does. We were on the phone for a whole hour.
Then I went on a walk with J, and I told him about my day so far. The wildflowers near the school playground are pretty sparse this year, unfortunately. I'd wanted to show AA the cats' ears, but I only found five plants of it.
