From the jacket: "This intimate and devastating book traces [the author's] relationship to the English language, to shame and depression, to poetry and female friendship." I've been reading a lot of books and articles about racism, but she raised many points I'd never thought about. For example, Wes Anderson's films, even when they're light and about kindness, help create the very "white nostalgia" worldview that's so foundational for Trump fans. I marked a lot of pages to copy so I can go through and highlight them; this book is going to be very useful. And since it's also a memoir, it's highly readable.
