Day 422: Tax accountant
May. 11th, 2021 11:45 pmToday I met with the estate tax accountant. Whoa. She's a whirlwind and a real character. Good sense of humor, though. Our meeting lasted almost two hours, with her talking top-speed the entire time. She reminded me of my stuck-on-manic grandma, except that she was way more interactive, genuinely funny, definitely wacky, probably a bit rougher around the edges, yet less prone to gruesome descriptions.
I liked her - she was very helpful and seems on top of everything - but afterwards I was stunned by how quiet the world had become. That is, the experience was pretty draining for an introvert like me.
My spacebar is acting up now. Bother.
I left here early to go to the library first, but realized it would take too long, so instead I went to a nearby neighborhood park and walked around enjoying all the poppies. After the meeting I did get to the library, where they had four books ready for me, and then I went to the bank where most of the estate is and started consolidating everything into one account. With luck, I can start writing checks to each of us in the next few days.
