Today was a full day! I took D. to get his allergy shot, dropped him off, and swung by the Safeway over there to see if they had more allergy pills on sale, since our store only has 2-3 boxes at a time, at most. They had at least 15 boxes! I bought six, enough to last six months, and saved nearly $30. I also picked up four library books - so fun!

When we got home, I worked a bit on the blackberries in the back yard, then showered (so much pollen!), then read a chapter in the Mayer book, then went back outside and mowed some of the vines. I got quite an interesting-looking scratch just above my ankle - it looks like part of a Frankenstein's Monster costume.

Then I went to J's, where we watched Science Pub - it was the fun geologist guy telling us about the geology of the Oregon coast. Only a geologist would say that a terrain is less interesting because of all the trees growing on it. He mostly talked about the coast north of Florence (my birthplace) or south of Florence, and not much on Florence itself, although he did discuss our amazing sand dunes. Oh, and the various headlands (like Heceta Head, in my icon picture) are from basalt flows from far inland.

Then I went upstairs to finish reading the Mayer book while listening to the Schubert cello quintet yet again, while J. did some of the Tuesday night gaming with his Discord friends. I joined them later for some Blather Round, which is fun, although I wish that for one round I'd picked Charlotte's Web for my topic instead of Meghan Markle.

After that, D. asked me to come help him figure out what to do with a whole bunch of stuff he no longer wants in his room but doesn't want to discard either. I came up with ideas of better places in the house for most of it.

Fun things I can look forward to:
  • DG is coming over tomorrow evening for Thai food; his wife and/or D. may join us.
  • Dante H. is having his senior clarinet recital in a couple weeks (online) and invited me. That sounds great!
  • And JG, my colleague, says she's retiring in 2.5 years and moving back here, having moved to Arizona 10-11 years ago to have a proper steady income.
