Day 314: New minor mystery?

eve_primeSo, last night, I noticed that my right big toe had a minor dull ache in it, not enough to interfere with sleeping or anything. I tried stretching it in both directions, which didn't seem to affect it much but certainly didn't help. Today I was surprised to find that that knuckle is really rather swollen on the right, but it doesn't particularly hurt, nor is the swelling visible. How weird! So, I iced it some, avoided wearing shoes, kept it elevated much of the time, etc.
I don't remember banging it against anything, and the description doesn't match any of the ailments of that location that I found online. I guess I'll just keep favoring it and hope it gets better on its own in a week or two? Too bad about not being able to do proper walks.
This evening, while J. played Rolemaster I made some progress on both of the tiresome current work projects (revising a grant proposal and revising a paper, in both cases to comply with less than rational feedback). After that, J. and I figured out how to hang out with DG and AA online and shared two anime episodes with them remotely. That was fun.
Jean-Luc's a bit scared of me now, which is sad since he's normally very outgoing. He's especially fluffy, and yesterday when petting him I gave him a few static electricity shocks. Poor thing. Sorin and Ginevra both have that problem, but neither of them minds much.
