Introduction to formality
Oct. 24th, 2012 11:15 pmPoor D. For the school concerts, since he’s now in the more advanced band, they now have a dress code: black slacks, white buttoning shirt, tie. But since we live in Eugene, this is hitherto unexperienced formality for him. We ordered the clothes from Penney’s, and they arrived today, so he tried them on. He quite liked the tie, but the pants were so tight (he’s used to sweatpants and shorts, rather than fitted pants), and he really resisted the idea of having to tuck in a shirt. I don’t think he’s ever in his life worn a tucked-in shirt. (So funny!)
For Thursday’s UNICEF concert, they have the option of wearing a Halloween costume again, so he’s planning to do that... but that’s a whole ’nother tale.
