In which D. turns 12

D. had a great time at his birthday sleepover last night at R’s – after pizza, the four boys played Halo Reach for hours and didn’t sleep until 5:45 a.m. The guests went home around 11 a.m., and I got him back at 4 p.m., after which we showered him with gifts, and we ate spaghetti for dinner and the birthday apple pie in the evening. The Minecraft server where he wanted to play that survival game was having issues, but J. found a browser game called Seedling that was much like Zelda, and the two of them played it on separate computers, giving each other tips and advice until D’s bedtime. I tried to finish reading A Princess of Mars, but after a while he confessed that he wasn’t following what I was saying any more; the sleep deficit had caught up with him.
