Friday evening, still much to do
Nov. 18th, 2011 09:52 pmToday I attended a brownbag on campus about anthropomorphism in young children. Three women are working on interesting projects. One is studying the way that people describe the activities of geometric shapes moving around on a screen, designed to replicate human interactions – some are very literal about it, some get really involved with attributing all sorts of motives, and most are in between. Another is studying the degree to which people can see faces in objects, and the third is working with infants.
I still have lots of work to do today, but it’s tempting to curl up with novels, TV, and the stack of cookbooks I have here next to the couch. Nevertheless, I really should work. Okay... I’ll work on the most important thing for at least ten minutes, which will get me past my procrastination for this task, and then we’ll see.
