Short, low-effort posts like the last two, where I just pasted in something I like, can mean that I didn't have any particularly interesting experiences that day, or I'm too tired to be creative, or most commonly, both. And that instead of dwelling on that, I'd rather dwell on something funny (like the Barbie one) or focus my imagination on sensory engagement in a relaxing kind of way (like the Croatian islands one). Today was less frazzling than yesterday because although I got more done, there weren't any wearying surprises. Yesterday, I found myself doing a bunch of extra stuff that had to be done, and in a rush too, and then I had to fit in an interview with some girl writing an article about our project for her student paper. After telling her I was too busy to do it that evening, I agreed to do it anyway. And then, an hour later, she used *69 to get my number and called me back to ask me for another favor, because she'd been too flaky to register with our guest site on a timely basis. Some nerve!

So this morning my mom and I found some old records of jazz artists, from the 1960s, at the top of one of her cabinets, and then we spent some fun time sorting through old travel brochures from all over the world. Then on my way to work I renewed three UO library books (bah, the students have come back, I no longer have my choice of parking spots), and then at work I got to chat with B. while doing my weekly mailing. Then, a relaxing evening with the rest of that Falco novel, a nice fat veggie burrito, and 2-2/3 sitcom episodes (1-2/3 Seinfelds and a Friends). It's funny when getting to sit and watch a sitcom feels like a great privilege and tremendously relaxing, but that's how it is when you have a 4-year-old.
