I was bad.
Jul. 18th, 2007 08:45 pmI had a plain text e-mail to send to about 1,280 people. I'd sent e-mails to hundreds of people before, so I just did it. Bad. Even though I had them all in a bcc, the resulting e-mail was over 600K, and I pretty much crashed the mail server, or in the words of our rather brusque network administrator, I "ruined the computers." He disabled my vpn, too. I hope the reason it remains disabled is because he's so cross with me, and not because he's still there having to work on the problem.
I came across a very vocal young hawk about 15' up in a very old douglas-fir on campus, and I took pictures, but since I had the 3x camera instead of the 10x camera, they're not worth posting.
Hmm, what else? I checked the page proofs for that article where I had to disagree with the reviewers (eep!), which had been stressful at the time. Today I saw that the copy editor had changed a "further" to "furthermore," but since I don't say things like "furthermore," I suggested they try "moreover" instead. Other than that, it looked pretty good; it'll be glad to get that one in print.
Update 12:44 a.m. - Still no vpn.
