eve_primeMy cat, Robin Anklesbane, turned 11 today, and I spent quite some time trying to take a birthday portrait. When I sat next to him on the floor, he'd either look away in the usual cat manner, or he'd start walking towards me for affection. So I thought, okay, I won't get a straight portrait; maybe I can provoke him into biting me and get a good action shot. I put some effort into this too, but he just wasn't willing to be serious about biting, and the shutter delay wasn't cooperating. Finally, bah, light dawned -- a cuddly approach would work better than mere coaxing or provocation. And thus we have:
J. is at a fantasy convention in Durham called Trinoc*coN, where he planned to learn more about the Buffy-verse, the natural history of Draco draconis, and I'm not sure what else. I watched an episode of Mystery that was quite good, part one of Foyle's War, Series II. Haven't seen Series I but now I want to. I also reread the last bit of The Grey King and then read Cooper's The Boggart, which was rather more literary than I'd expected from the title, subject matter, and cover art. I quite liked it. It was 99 today, but I stayed inside almost all day, and tomorrow should be at least 10 degrees cooler.
