The morning: Sitting at my mom's picnic table going through a box of old travel brochures with her, noting all the interesting tours and cruises that Harvard and Dartmouth alumni are invited to. Most were the usual Mediterranean sites, but there was an interesting "circumnavigation of Madagascar" one, and the most intriguing went up the east coast of South America then cut across to Africa and went along its west coast to the Mediterranean. She found some guides to Italian towns to keep, and I came home with a guide to Oxford and some pretty pictures of Britain and Turkey.
