eve_primeTonight was mini-book club, discussing Wild Life. HB had gotten vaccinated this week and didn't feel well enough to join us, but BHW and JLS and I had a great conversation about the book and everything else. JLS's daughter has gotten engaged to her wonderful girlfriend (whom I like very much), and she (JLS, not the daughter or the fiancee) has a book contract! Meanwhile, BHW recently rode her e-bike around the rim of Crater Lake!
J and C had their last full day in the U.K., visiting Hampshire. They took the train to Winchester, visited Winchester Cathedral, then took a taxi out to Chawton House and the smaller cottage, the Jane Austen House. Their taxi returned for them afterwards, and they caught the train back to Oxford and had a nice dinner in an Italian restaurant near the hotel. Now it's morning again and they're visiting a few more Oxford places before taking a taxi to Heathrow to begin flying to New York City.
