Late summer Wednesday
Sep. 4th, 2024 11:57 pmJ is off on the first leg of his trip - well, the second, really, as the first was just a flight to Seattle; he should be in North Carolina in a couple of hours. I helped him get out the door and chatted online with him while he was at the two airports, and I also exchanged a few texts with his mom, who is nervous, especially about the flying part.
Today was rather warm and also just above the threshold for haziness that I don't care for. Not unhealthy, probably, but not good for sitting outside and reading. I did take a walk. The smoke in the air makes me extra-thirsty. We expect 101 F tomorrow, and I won't be surprised if it's even smokier, but - whoops, I just refreshed our local forecast, and the rain we were expecting in a week is now gone. I was counting on that rain. Oh well. Maybe the wind patterns will fix it.
It's nice that D's still around. He made progress today in sorting out papers in his desk.
