Visiting family, day 1

J had a fun day today - driving up to Portland and then Mt St Helens with his brother and nephew. First they explored a lava tube, then the Ape Cave. J didn't actually go down into the lava tube (claustrophobia), but his nephew had a grand time. Then they got dinner and drove back here. The cats were horrified to meet them, and I expect it will be next to impossible to bring them indoors tomorrow night or Friday night, but the weather is fine and we'll see what happens.

The weather really is nice. I read outside a bunch then, at dusk, took a walk.

J seems entirely healthy today. D is much better too, but his throat is still a bit congested. He and three friends started playing a game called Betrayal: Legacy, and now they're planning to play every week for the next 12 weeks to finish all 13 rounds of the game.
