Antiagon Fire (Imager Portfolio #7, 4th in storyworld order), by L.E. Modesitt, Jr. This is the fourth of the books about Quaeryt and Vaelora, and probably my favorite because, unlike the third book, quite a lot happens! In fact, the two main things I remembered from the series both take place in this book - a somewhat mystical happening on the far west of the fantasy continent, and an attack when their army is travelling southward through a sandstone defile. I only have the vaguest idea of how things go in the fifth book, so we'll see. It's interesting that this one was so much more memorable.
