Small Friday updates

First, an update on the allergy pills. I took the name brand on Thursday night, and today my sinuses were fine, no sniffing, no sneezing, etc. Whew!

Today D. sent me a photo of the street sign for the street in Dinuba, California, that was named for his paternal ancestor, one of its early American settlers; it's our last name. I've been hearing about this street for probably 40 years. In return, I sent him a photo of the bank of wildfire smoke to the east, which isn't here yet, thankfully.

Also, today I bought a gallon of milk for D's return on Sunday, which was quite serendipitous as the philosopher Mark Johnson was also buying milk. He asked about my work, and told me about the book he and Don Tucker finished yesterday, their second book. I can hardly wait to read it!

Our Friday movie was Waterworld, which we hadn't seen before, and which was somewhat more interesting than I expected, with all of the technologies our main character had created for his boat.

I'm glad the brand name pills still work. It's a shame that the cheaper ones aren't as good, but at least you know now.

And now that I'm past it, it's kind of funny how allergic I was on Thursday, the day _after_ the pollen levels had finally dropped for the year. Some young people came to the door to get me to sign up for their environmental movement, and I was standing there sniffing and sniffling and sneezing.
