Iffy allergy pills

The allergy pills that D and I take are pretty expensive if we buy the name brand, nearly a dollar a pill, which adds up. The Safeway house brand is a lot cheaper, 40-60 cents each, but they're often out of stock during allergy season, or at least during June. I recently ordered the same drug from a different manufacturer, from Amazon, and it's more like 21 cents. Great...

So I started taking the new pills two nights ago. And both nights I woke up way too congested, with lots of sinus pressure. And the thing is, the pollen's the lowest it's been in months! I was also fairly nauseous during the afternoon and early evening, too. It's possible that I'm actually sick, but I am skeptical of these new pills. I'm switching back to the name brand tonight, and we'll see how it goes.

Let's see, what else? D has arrived safely in Dinuba but forgot his hairbrush and toothpaste. J is also fine except for the curious gash on his leg that he got in sword class - considering the swords have blunt edges, it must have been quite a hit. I got some books at the university library and returned the strange one, though I'd probably have been happier staying home and resting. Tomorrow! Lots of resting tomorrow; the weather is lovely.

Are you talking about Allegra and the generics? I am able to get the generic free through my Medicare health insurance but I am wondering about the generic brand too. Sometimes brands are just better. I still only use Best Foods Mayonnaise. ;-)

Yeah, Allegra (fexofenadine). The actual Allegra is fine, and the Safeway/Signature Care is fine, but I am skeptical of this C'rcle brand from Amazon. I took a real Allegra last night, and today my sinuses are just fine.

I am pretty paranoid of Amazon stuff, where was it manufactured is the question. I think I will buy some real Allegra the next time it is on sale and do a comparison, thank for bringing this up!

This experience really has me wondering whether there's any testing whatsoever to ensure that the pills from Amazon have the actual medication in them, in the dose they claim.

It doesn't say on their bottle who the manufacturer is? If so, maybe you can look that up?
