It's a good routine for dealing with the heat. During the day, I stay indoors, doing work and housework, then around 6 pm it's shady enough for me to sit outside, even if it's still 100F. I bring a water bottle and several books, and at some point J joins me, and we read together until some point after 8 pm when he starts fretting about mosquitos. Then we do a short-ish walk, and we spend the rest of the evening indoors.

Kind of like what I am doing but the opposite, getting out early and doing things. It's 6:00pm here and 98 degrees but the rest of the week looks so bad with Wednesday up to 107. Welcome summer! ;-)

107 seems like Too Much. I am surprised that 100 and 99 feel so different to me when I am reading outside in the shade. I hope you won't have five hot days like we are having here!

I think today is the worst day, the 107 at 5:00pm. North of me a friend said it will be 111 today. She lives up by Eastern Oregon. Well, it won't be back in the 90s in over a week.

At least we are not like Palm Desert, a friend told me it was 123, holy cow!!

Yes, I am so glad it's not like Red Bluff here! And Red Bluff doesn't even have a lake. I cannot imagine willingly living there, like my ex-husband's family.
