Two animal crossings

eve_primeSince I'm writing a paper about videogames, yesterday I went to AA and DG's house so that AA could show me the island she's created on Animal Crossing. She worked hours a day for three years and made an amazing place - so beautiful and restful. My favorite parts were the museum and the moving water - both the waterfall and the ocean shore. One thing that I found interesting about the game is that it happens in real time, so we were seeing the world there between 7:30 and 9:30ish p.m. in mid-May. (Yes, it did take more than two hours to see it all!)
And that reminded me that I forgot to tell you about another type of "animal crossing" that AA recently experienced. Maybe a week ago, I saw in an email from Nextdoor that a bear had been spotted across the street from the school buildings just two blocks from their house (they live just southeast of us, on the edge of town). I sent them the note, and it turned out that AA had seen the bear at 3 am that night in their own fenced backyard!
