Mother's Day
May. 12th, 2024 11:57 pmOverall I had a fine day. I got a card and pretty flowers from D, a text greeting from B, one from DG too who is not a relation of mine, and one from J. In the afternoon, I did some writing (progress on a paper due soon and an email about the aurora to J's mom), while J went biking by the river with DG. When he was back, we read outside together, as the weather was simply perfect. I opened a memoir I'm in the middle of, and the next chapter started with "It is Mother's Day," which made me laugh out loud. The chapter was set In March, though, unlike here.
We ordered Thai food, and D joined us, and we ate outside and had fun conversation, then J and I resumed reading until it was a bit too cool to keep sitting outside. D couldn't find his earbuds (or whatever they're called, something fancier I think) and was looking all over for them, but I found them, yay for my mom-powers. We sat at J's dining table and went through all the voting material and cast our ballots in the primary election, then we unpacked a really elaborate board game version of Slay the Spire that J got from a Kickstarter campaign. J and I played the new Hades II game a bit, too. Altogether, an interesting day!
